In dreams, everything is connected: the heart and the mind, life and death, light and darkness, reality and fantasy, beauty and love. In some dreams people can face dragons and save the damsel in distress. Other dreams are dark, destructive, and chaotic. Then again, we may dream that we are peacefully dreaming. Regardless of what we dream, every dream is relevant. For years people, including myself, have been trying to find the deeper meanings in dreams rather than focusing on the importance within them. In my subconscious mind, dreams help solve the puzzles lingering in my waking hours allowing me to have a functional mind.
Ever since I was a wee lad I dreamed that one day I would do something epically amazing. Every dream that I experienced inspired me as a person and as an artist. Sometimes I find myself spacing off and imaging life differently. Dreams have always been a way for me to cope with everyday hardships. I express my dreams through my art and to show the world the beauty and truths hidden in them.
In recent series, the use of different mediums, portrayed attractive and surrealist imagery to depict beauty and change. A fantasy or surreal background makes the main character stunningly detailed.
These materials differ; I use graphite and charcoal pencils, fabrics and threads, and collaging with mixed-medias. I use different materials to make the audience feel more tied into my pieces. I want the audience to see the magnificence within the series but I also want them to experience the surrealist fantasies in my mind. Some inspirations are dreams of my own mind or adapted from other dreams woven from the deeper internet. Dreams always help me in my time of need. Whenever I need an escape from my life I fall deep within my mind. This is an escape out of the real world and I want the audience to experience it. As the audience views my pieces the works allow them to escape the world and focus on their own dreams. Dreams have always been a safety net for me and today I want others to be able to see in my dreams what I see in them.
